Integrated Chemistry & Physics

2 SEMESTERS • 2 CREDITS (Dual Credit Opportunity)

Integrated Chemistry/Physics introduces the fundamental concepts in chemistry and physics. Students who earned A's and B's in Algebra and other math courses and who plan on advancing in other science courses are recommended to take Chemistry I and Physics I. Laboratory work will be emphasized to enhance material taught through lecture and class work. Topics will be divided between basic concepts of Physics (Semester I) and Chemistry (Semester 2) including, but not limited to, the structure of matter, chemical reactions, forces, motion, and the interaction between energy and matter. This is an excellent choice for the student who does not wish to take two semesters of chemistry or physics or who desires extra practice before taking those classes. It can serve as a good introductory course for exploring further options in related science fields.

Prerequisites: Algebra I
Qualifies as a quantitative reasoning course.
