Since 1950, 91.9 WVSH has served as the Voice of the Schools of Huntington, providing student-led radio programming to the Huntington North High School community and beyond. Founded by McCabe "Pop" Day over seven decades ago, WVSH continues its legacy of excellence as a vital part of Huntington North Media, offering students hands-on broadcasting experience while delivering quality programming to listeners across the region.

Station History

On the air since January 1, 1950, WVSH is the second-oldest student-run radio station in Indiana.

Huntington High School students helped determine the station's call letters. While the W was mandated by the Federal Communications Commission, students suggested the VSH as an abbreviation for "Voice of the Schools of Huntington."

Early programming included student-written audio plays and school news.

The station's over-air signal covers Huntington County.

Along with a variety of music, students announce all Huntington North Viking football games, boys' and girls' basketball games, home and tournament baseball games, and tournament softball games.
